There is a Python script on Github that really helps. Assuming you are in the home directory of the root user (/root), run the following command.
Securing the Management plane using the LOCAL database requires: Enable secret Usernames Privilege levels Locking down Access Methods AAA Privilage Level 1 – 15 From the top of the mountain you can see everything below you. 15 is the top of the mountain. All commands are available at level 15.
In the networking world, you’ve no doubt heard the terms EtherChannel, port channel, LAG, MLAG, etc. These of course refer to taking multiple Ethernet connections and treating them as a single link. But one of the more confusing aspects I’ve run into is what’s the difference, if any, between the term EtherChannel and port channel? Well, I’m here to break it down for you.
OK, not that kind of break-it-down First, let’s talk about what is vendor-neutral and what is Cisco trademark. EtherChannel is a Cisco trademarked term (I’m not sure if port channel is), while the vendor neutral term is LAG (Link Aggregation).
Colloquially, however, I’ve seen both Cisco terms used with non-Cisco gear. For instance: “Let’s setup an Etherchannel between the Arista switch and the Juniper switch”. It’s kind of like in the UK using the term “hoovering” when the vacuum cleaner says Dyson on the side.

Inital Setup TCP Packets are automatically reassembled in Wireshark output by default. – Disable to view individual packets Protocol options – Allow subdisector to reassemble TCP streams. To see how many bytes are lefty in a TCP stream TCP protocol preferences – Check – Track number of bytes in flight (viewable under seq/ack analysis) Coversion Delay – Delay between packets in a TCP stream TCP protocol preferences – Calculate TCP time stamps ( optionally apply as a column) Disable IPV4, TCP, UDP checksum validation To decode a non standard port. Eg http on port 6788 -Wireshark can use heuristics to calculate it but this is not always acurate. – http protocol options – TCP ports – add port here. Or Force a disector on the traffic.
– right click the packet and select “decode as” and choose the option you need. Part 2 detecting latency with wireshark. Always set capture options before starting a capture. Pcap-ng – This may need to be unchecked depending on the analysis tool being used. Update in realtime – optionally uncheck if comptuer is slow.
Name resolution – If necessary these can all be unchecked for maximum speed. Interface options Can capture and export to a remote Columns -Add a Delta column so you can show the delay between packets For example, you can show the network is no the problem it is the database not the network.UTC time column.
Sort by TCP stream Can be done in the filter with TCP stream and tying enter for each one.OR add a custom column: -tcp.stream -http.host Ostinato can be used to send and manipulate traffic. Hide information within an ICMP ping. Posts navigation.
